About me…

you can cook but can you dance?
Welcome to my world,

Interestingly enough, I have never dreamed of blogging, wanted to blog or even knew how to blog…. but, certain members of my immediate family felt that I needed to share some of my unrequested advice with the world.

My family would not take no for an answer. I think there was method to their madness.

In any event, I will share my love of the good things in life and family, my love of sport, the Trojans & my disdain for soccer and my bemusement in all things political. However, allow me to warn you that I tend to be ‘moralistic’ and prone to offer ‘unwanted advice’… so if you can live with that… it might be fun.

We all enjoy cooking and we’ve put together some great recipes!

As for family, I have three daughters… Kristin (28), Karen (25) and Karla (23). Laura and I have been married since we were 20… so that makes 36 years in September (2008). Holidays are wonderful times around our house…. plenty of “Turducken!” We enjoy traveling and we are always planning for the next ‘big’ trip to somewhere. Our most memorable was to Tasmania. From  Kristin’s Seafood Lasagna  to  Karen’s Stroganoff  to their  Mama Laura’s wonderful Stuffed Peppers …. cooking well is a family affair!
aptain Kristin can dance and she can cook!
Education is valued around our house: West Pointer Kristin has a Masters in engineering management and looks towards another degree, Karen has just received her Masters in Strategic Public Relations from Southern Cal. and is working at the University of Tennessee on her Ph.D., and Mom set the gold standard long ago by obtaining a Masters and a Ph.D. in Psychology. Karla is our self-taught computer genius.

Mom and me.... amazing!

I’ve had my fun running for politics and won some and lost some. I am known as a Republican, but I have always been proud of my union support (Teamsters & AFL-CIO)… so I don’t think I fit the usual sterotypes.

Although it seems like a lifetime ago, I was an All-American at UCLA, track captain, drafted by the L.A.Rams , followed by earning two Masters Degrees (MBA & MSBA) from the University of Southern California…. where my love affair with ‘SC began.

Let’s have some fun,

Roger Freberg
