Jenny Craig Sound Barrier!

I know what healthy is!I think everyone has heard the screams from those who have failed to keep their diet… any diet. The excuses are endless I have heard …and made them all.

The biggest problem for me now-a-days is that I don’t want to hear it. Have I become a weight losing snob? Maybe. However, what I have come around to is the realization that no one loses weight UNLESS they really want to.

I know this guy … you probably know him too… he needs to lose weight or he’ll die but not until various parts of his body fall off or need to be replaced. I encouraged him to meet me and walk to the coffee shop. We didn’t need the company, I just thought it’d be good for him. He arrives bragging that he parked an extra space away from the entrance…

Anyway, I am far from ‘skinny’ but my friends joke that I am…”going thin.” My goal is to drop another 30… so it’ll take more time. Laura’s doing great… here she is wearing a size six that she just bought… and they are baggy!

I finally dropped to 247.6 today … very satisfying to be in the 40’s. I am down about 74 lbs now.

Jenny Craig & our Soldiers

Jenny Craig goes Military

It seems like a natural combination , once you think about it. Not all weight can be controled by exercise alone. The proper diet is critical to any maintenance program.

Having consumed M.R.E.’s (meals-ready-to-eat), I can honestly say that they are great, especially when you realize that they are ‘field rations.’ They beat the old style K-ration fruit cake by a mile! However, they are meant as ‘survival’ foods and high in nutritional… and caloric… content. I especially like the buttery pound cake… unfortunately, a mega caloric ‘butt builder’. It’s always fun to see women rave about it until they read and discover the caloric content.

Over time, I have noticed local soldiers enter our local  Jenny Craig  and I understand this is not a unique phenomenon. Kristin tells me that in Hawaii, many soldiers use the Jenny Plan to augment their heavy exercise load in order to ‘make weight’.

Kristin sent a photo of her “Jenny” dinner… noodles and chicken on the left and veggies on the right. yummy

Jenny Craig is Working!

Here are things that weigh 70 lbs! This is what I have lost!

Well, the weigh in today was extra special for several reasons. First I have now lost over 70 lbs and secondly, I dropped to 250 lbs. even for the first time.. well… let’s just say, in a very long time.

Pictured above are a few things that weigh what I have lost: a large mackerel , a female mule deer, a pair of wrestlers in the 70 lb. weight class, a large sea bass and a horse shoe anvil! Of course on me, the weight wasn’t as appealing.

I still have a ways to go until  feel like I have made as much progress as I needed to… and the real pain is that Laura lost a lot more than I did this week… but as we guys all know… it is easier for women to lose weight.

On Jenny Craig and we’re down 69.8 lbs & 64 lbs

Hey.... down 69.8 lbs for me....looookin' good!Well, we went in for our weekly ‘weigh in’ at Jenny Craig and although I have only dropped only a pound in the last two weeks, I have lost 69.8 lbs in total since the beginning of December!

Laura has also done an excellent job…. dropping 64 lbs on a much smaller frame. However, this is the weight that she has lived most of her life … and I think she’s feeling good to be back in familiar territory.

Evil’ daughter Karen has been sending wonderful pictures of food and fun from South Africa and all I can say is… yummy!

My daughter Kristin is no better, she is constantly telling me how yummy her Starbucks Chocolate Coffee grande’ carmel latte’ expresso with creamy foamy delicioso whatever is. I really don’t need to know this. She uses some sort of toffee bar as a swizzle stick! sheeeesh!

In any event, laura and I have dropped a long way in the direction of our final goal weight and it feels great!

Have a yummy day!

Jenny Craig, me and South Africa

Just me and Jenny Craig

Well, here I am at the Los Angeles Zoo. Thanks to Jenny Craig I am down  68 lbs  which feels very good. The problem is that according to the BMI (Body Mass Index) I am ‘very obese’…. which is funny since I am 6’4″ and wear a size 36 pair of shorts. However, I plan to drop a bit more.

Karen is in South Africa with her cookbook by Jenny Craig and an entire case of Jenny Craig “complete Start” cereal… so she’s all set. She said she was going to take a picture of her J.C. case, her and Capetown and send it to the fine people at Jenny Craig.

Sometimes, I think with all the feasting and famine in human history that we are naturally prone to yo-yo in our dieting… but I like it here as a thiner me… so I plan to continue losing and stay a while… if not forever.
