LONDON FASHION SHOW… taking things a little FUR-ther!

You’ve got to admire a guy who is willing to defend his ‘craft’ from the slings, arrows and paint of infamous “anti-fur mob(s)”… we all know who they are… in fact, I thought of a great screen play entitled “Vegetarians Gone wild.”

In any event, the London Fashion show has redeemed itself in my eyes because of folks like Julien MacDonald who said such great lines like…

“People who don’t like fur can p*ss off. I love fur. It’s a beautiful natural product from animals.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself! Makes me kinda proud of the similar ancestry we share in common.

Well, the extreme vegetarian fundamentalists at Peta had a few things to say:

“Today a spokeswoman for anti-fur group Peta said: “Every year tens of thousands of animals will be killed for Julien’s collections.”

Actress Pamela Anderson, a Peta supporter, snubbed an invitation from Macdonald this week, telling him: “If you stop using fur, I’d be thrilled to attend… I know you can come up with killer fashions that don’t kill anything.”

Anyway, Julien… you are our ‘Hero’ Awardee!

Happy Valentine’s Day Laura and K³ !

17 years old... and in love way back then! Happy Valentine's Day Sweetheart! My Uncle Cal — a scientist by birth and a mathematician at heart — referred to my three daughters Kristin, Karen and Karla as K³ …. and it has stuck with me ever since.

Valentine’s Day has a long History and Wikipedia has a nice blurb if you take the time to read it. A couple of exerpts amused me…. allow me to share these morsels:

“A recent trend has been to refer to February 14 as Singles Awareness Day.”

(nah… singles are just ‘practicing at love’)

“In …. (Iran) this popular date is discreetly celebrated by most lovers despite the disapproval of such occasion by the hardline Islamic government as a copycat of the West.”

(even ‘love’ — I guess — has to be approved by the mullahs)

Well, Valentine’s Day is a great Day to remember those you love….

Happy Valentines Day  Laura and K³

Terrorist ‘Chic’ walks the London Runway?

Photo on YahooOkay, boys and girls, I know this isn’t going to sound too Politically Correct… but outside of folks named Osama, who’s gonna buy this stuff?

Believe it or not this is what is ‘haute coulture’ on the London Fashion scene. Want more pics? Now, I know a few women who might actually look good in this sort of thing… names starting with Hillary or Dixie Chics… but this is the sort of thing that sets the old time machine back to the times when three women sold for one cow.

Well, I guess we all get to thank this month’s Weenie Award winner as described by Yahoo: “A model wears an outfit by Fashion East designer Louise Golden during her catwalk show at London Fashion Week in London, Monday Feb. 12, 2007.”

You can read more about Fashion East and their ‘young designers’ here. However, real Islamic fashions can be found elsewhere.

I just might go for this sort of thing if it was marketed better… maybe, if we were told that this is cold weather gear… but then, the bare legs say another thing.

Jenny Craig Dinner…. super sized!

Jenny Craig Dinner.... plus sized
Actually, I designed this meal to actually tease my fellow dieters Karen and Laura.

Laura is on a Jenny Craig 1200 Calorie plan and Karen is on a 1700 Calorie plan now that they are ‘successful dieters’… when you succeed, they drop your calorie intake as you approach your goal. I think they do this to help you along… good idea.

In any event, they protest loudly that I … on a 2300 calorie plan … can actually lose weight… and they protest even louder as it means I get an ‘extra’ meal. I combined my dinner (chili) and my extra meal (turkey burger) into a fine combo meal! Along with the ‘free foods’ of Zuccini and baby onions ( seasoned with Susie Q)… it was…. WONDERFUL!

It does look kinda wonderful doesn’t it? Makes you forget you are actually on a diet.

Remembering Anniversaries isn’t so tough….

Happy monthly anniversary

Remembering any anniversary, guys, isn’t all that tough… if you make it a game.

The ‘prize’ ( you choose) goes to the one who remembers first. I always thought it was unmistakeably romantic of the Germans to have an anniversary for 400 months of marital bliss… very cool.

Happy 413th month anniversary, Hun. Thanks for keeping it fun.
