What you may not know:

Evan Coyne Maloney Heroic Documentary Film MakerFor those of you who haven’t heard about what’s happenin’ on college campuses today…let’s just say … it’s not all good.

Evan Coyne Maloney has produced a fascinating film — entitled ” Indoctrinate U.” – on what might be called ‘political correctness’ on college campuses.

One review:

“The Weekly Standardsaid, “The documentary combines relatively shocking footage (one professor excitedly tells the camera “whiteness is a form of racial oppression . . . treason to whiteness is loyalty to humanity”) with snappy editing to create a documentary that bounces quickly from subject to subject.”

Upcoming screenings of the film can be found on their site!

Is this Warren Baker President of Cal Poly?On one hand, on many campuses there exists a hyper-sensitivity to sexually displaying a banana on a campus, ‘hurting’ or ‘offending’ someone’s feelings…. whereas displaying our American Flag could become grounds for suspension some places. The inmates are running the asylum.

So, what has this to do with me? Yep, I — also — appear in the film. For 7 years, my wife — the professor — struggled for existence with Cal Poly State University at San Luis Obispo … and succeeded. And what happened to — in my humble opinion — the “bad guys?”... they eventually all received big raises and promotions.

If you get a chance… check it out. If it hadn’t happened to me… I’d be laughing.

Chimichangas are el magnifico

chimichangas

Chimichangas are generally the most expensive item on the menu of your local Mexican food restaurant. The reason is very simple, it is the extra beef and the preparation time.

Chimi’s were developed in and around Tucson, Arizona in the 1920’s as part of what many refer to as a blend of cultural tastes or ‘fusion’ cooking. Call it Tex-Mex or Tucson-Sonora Cooking, it tastes just as wonderful!
Here’s one fun way to make chimichangas. If you make them yourself, you may never buy another.

Here’s our recipe!

Rogelio's secret of the Chimichanga is safe with you? Yes?

enjoy,

Roger

Want to cook for Fun try a Chimichanga!

Rogelio's el magnifico chimichanga

What good is a great deep fryer if you can’t use it to make something truly wonderful?

There are many excellent stories about the invention of Chimichangas in Southern Arizona around the early 1920’s. What started out as an overstuffed burrito that then was deep fried has evolved to a wide variety of very special meals with all the trimmings!

Rogelio ( pronounced ‘Ro-hel-lio’) has put aside his Boston Baked Bread  to prepare ‘el magnifico chimichangas’… and pictures will follow. This is my project for today.
In the meantime…. Margarita’s anyone?

Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo has an administration without par, they are said to be a legend in their own mind. However, what can be said without dispute is the Cal Poly administration is the most ‘coulrophobic’ in the nation.

So, watch ‘the Cal Poly stars come out’ Monday Night — 6 pm Pacific Time —  Channel 197 on Satellite!

See what’s REALLY behind the GREEN and yellow door!

what Michael Moore is worth today

How much do you have to pay to buy Fahrenheit 9/11 todayI have observed that the ‘Oscar’ as presented by the  Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science  is a reward for certain contemporary political relevance and not an award for artistic or excellence in entertainment. Entertainment seems to be irrelevant.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that few ‘Oscar’ awarded or nominated films make it past the ash can of history. Name me any of the top awardees from last year? or the year before? You may remember, ‘Lord of the Rings’ only won one.

So what happens to all of the Hollywood elitist’s biggies? Here are a couple:

It’s hard not to remember some of the movies that were pushed so hard in the media, by the Academy. “Brokeback Mountain” was everywhere and finally it was ‘bundled’ with other movies to get it moved off the shelves and out of the warehouses.  You can by it today for as low as $1.27. However, there is someone less valued and in less demand.

You can by Michael Moore’s piece of political spin ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ for as little as $.47 at Amazon.com… I screen captured the photo ad on my last visit. ( not including shipping and handling)

What does it say about a movie that doesn’t have any staying power and what does it really say about winning an Oscar?
