2008… going , going…..

2008 is half over!

It is amazing how fast this year is going by… I am reminded with the approach of all the big dates in my life… our anniversary, my wife’s birthday and 2 of my daughter’s birthdays!

Time may not fly… but it passes awfully quickly.

Speaking of changes… look who’s on Facebook?

careful mom and Dad may be watching!

Laura and I joined Facebook for the ease of communicating with our daughters… who now find it easier to download Facebook on their phones wherever they go. My eldest daughter suggested that I put up any projects I am doing as a photo album as her Blackberry can handle it much better than my humungous picture files… sounded like good advice.

So although some folks may be a little self conscious about letting SOME people become part of their “friends” network… it’s not really such a bad idea… you never know who might wind up with one of your pictures! Karen posted an interesting blog on this subject!

Facebook still can be fun… especially if years from now you haven’t posted anything that will haunt you.

Have fun! 🙂

My Green Vehicle

Kristin Loves My or Her Harley
Well, here I am sitting on my ‘green’ vehicle… I like to sneer at all those ‘gas guzzling’ Prius’s and Hybrid polluters! Ha!

Now, I am quite a different man since I had my last few pictures on my bike… say… a hundred pounds or so…. and I had quite a beard, too. I guess I am into my skinny old white dude phase. Besides, I don’t get as many tickets looking like this. Thanks Jenny Craig!

I am virtually finished with my ‘save the spa house’ project… remember the roof caved in?
It was a lot harder to do than it looks!

For all you Harley riders out there… ‘stay upright!’

Keeping a light on for you!

remembering our men and women in uniform

I have made it a habit to subscribe to the daily Department of Defense Reports… it helps get a personal picture of what is happening in our world. The sacrifices of everyday Americans is humbling and a reminder how easy it would be for us to fall into the abyss.

Thank you

Personal M&M’s make a statement!

warren bakerOkay, true confessions…. I always loved M & M’s!

In fact, I once worked on a project for Forest Mars,Sr. and in one of the Mars Divisions. It was quite an experience…. but that was in the past, and distracts from the now.

So, secretly, haven’t you always wanted to put your face on an M&M? Or perhaps even write a secret message? Well, now you can thanks to the folks at mymms.com

Anyway, I was thinking of putting a clown’s head on an M & M for an activity we have coming down the road… quite a party favor!

Anyway, think of all the wonderful things you can do?

Of course, some folks would not find this funny at all….

Death by Veggies?

Okay, let’s face it, any time I read about how a vegan or a vegetarian diet is harmful, my first instinct is to believe it. Vegetarianism is a nice concept… as long as you don’t consider plants part of ‘life’ …. but it’s merely a mind game.
I am predisposed to not be fond of vegetarians in a large part because of the many famous 20th century vegetarian dictators that caused so much harm to our world, such as Hitler, to name but one of many. And no, I don’t think vegetarianism breeds peace … peace comes from who we are inside.

gee, I hope that's a poison apple and not evil TOFU!!!!

Anyway, recently. I was given a wonderful article on how a diet of ‘tofu’ can actually cause some serious problems… like dementia… read on! This does help explain some of the wackiness of vegetarian groups…. hmmm I will confess to liking a little tofu floating in my miso soup … but I like to live dangerously.

where my blog has been!

BTW. It’s fun to see where my blog has traveled… must be a lot of chefs out there!
